LANDSCAPES

Drawing inspiration from the paintings of Klöntal by Swiss artist Conrad Meyer (1618-1689), Patrick Lambertz explores landscape photography through a romantic lens in his series "Landscapes".

Just as Conrad Meyer initiated a tradition of mountain portraiture and panoramas in the mid-17th century with his intricate brush drawings of the stunning Klöntal valley in the Canton of Glarus, Lambertz utilizes this location as a launchpad for his own exploration of idealized landscapes.

Lambertz captures mountains and valleys illuminated by awe-inspiring light, evoking reminiscences of landscape portraiture masters such as Anthony Vandyke Copley Fielding, Peter Graham, and Albert Bierstadt. His large format panoramic prints compel the viewer to step into the image, encouraging an in-depth examination of the landscape's intricate details. The study of topographies plays a pivotal role in Lambertz's oeuvre, echoing his acclaimed series, "Chalets of Switzerland".
